February might not be my favourite month, but if there is something I ADORE it’s Valentine’s Day. All of the pink hearts that cover up the store windows, little signs & chocolate boxes saying ‘my love’ and other cheesy quotes just have a special place in my heart. And I’m not even a romantic person!
Before we get started, I want to acknowledge that the title of this post is the most random ever. Like portraits and flash photography work well together, but meatballs…??? Well, let’s just say that the first two would not have existed without the meatballs. I’ll explain this shortly don’t you worry.
Over one night, world had turned into a real life winter wonderland. Snowflakes fluttered calmly down to the ground, covering the last tip of the lush green grass. Only people around were the ones either with overly excited dogs, or children, whose laugh could be heard far away as they were sliding down with their sleds.
Before moving to Vancouver I was really expecting even a little bit colder winter days, and not as many sunny/warm ones as we’ve had during this month. If December was grey and gloomy, has January been filled with rays of sunshine and sweating under the winter clothes, which I’ve been wearing for one reason only; it’s winter.
During winter, life in Vancouver may feel like being stuck in a rainy, grey painting. Yes, snowy top mountains may occasionally cheer you up by saying hello behind the moody clouds, but most likely you’ll be finding yourself walking in the rain, pulling the hood tighter over your head.
Life in Canada
Last weekend our small group of 4 went outdoors to enjoy beautiful sunny day, to experience Big Cedar and Kennedy Falls. To be honest we decided the hike on the same week - Vancouver & always changing weather forecast can sometimes make it a bit hard to make plans well in advance.

Few posts back I shared my experience exploring Canyon Lights in Capilano Suspension Bridge Park during the evening, but today I’m here to share a few pictures what the place looked like in the day time!
Looking for a hike in North Vancouver that takes less than 2 hours and dreaming of having a cup of delicious coffee afterwards? Well look no more! The hike you are looking for might be the one that takes you up to the Quarry Rock.

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
When googling “What to do in Vancouver” one of the first things to pop up is Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, located in North Vancouver. This attraction is easily accessible from downtown of Vancouver thanks to the free shuttle service between the locations.

First Christmas in Vancouver
Christmas can be one of the hardest times to live abroad. Missing out of all the family traditions can feel like someone is stabbing you directly to the heart, especially when you can see a glance of all the coziness through a video call (or from social media - let’s be honest, most us will find ourselves scrolling social media even on Christmas).

3 x Christmas Markets in Canada
December is the month of the year when the lights twinkle a little brighter, laughter gets louder and darkness doesn’t feel so overwhelming. Or that’s how the month feels to me, but you may call me biased Sagittarius baby as well.
